| Decoherence in mechanical resonators at low temperatures | |

| Annotation: | Modern technologies allow the production of mechanical resonators with great material variability and in a widerange of geometric dimensions. This makes it possible to influence their resulting physical properties in acontrolled way. By reducing the geometric dimensions of the resonators and simultaneously cooling them to lowtemperatures (<1 K), it is possible to obtain a unique experimental tool for studying decoherence (i.e. energydissipation processes and frequency fluctuations) as well as the transition between the classical and quantumdynamics. The goals of our project include (i) study of nonlinear processes in macroscopic resonators based onpiezoelectric materials, (ii) mastering the production of nanoresonators by lithographic methods on preciselydefined substrates and (iii) study of decoherence processes using micro and nanoresonators prepared by us. |
