Visitors from ESA at Lomnický štít

The second week of June was exceptionally successful for our institute in presenting the results of our work at both national and international levels.
On Thursday, June 12, the facilities of the Institute of Experimental Physics SAS and the Astronomical Institute SAS at Lomnický štít were honored by visit from representatives of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic and the European Space Agency (ESA).
During the visit we presented the ongoing research at the IEP SAS facility and introduced our neutron monitor, which serves as a key source of cosmic radiation data in ESADOS project, done by Institute of Experimental Physics SAS in collaboration with the Nuclear Physics Institute CAS, funded by a grant from ESA.
We are very pleased that our work is gaining attention from the wider Slovak public. One example is the report in the popular science program VAT – Science and Technology on STVR, which presented our facility and the ESADOS project in engaging way. The last of a three-part series of reports about our workplaces will air this Saturday on the second channel of STVR and will also be available in the STVR archive – https://www.stvr.sk/televizia/archiv/14067.
