UPJŠ became co-founder of the East Slovak Space Cluster

The first general assembly of the East Slovak Space Cluster took place on Thursday, January 30, 2025.  The space cluster was established earlier this year and its founding members, in addition to the UPJŠ in Košice, are Technical University in Košice, Institute of Experimental Physics SAS, Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions and the Slovak Space Office (SARIO Agency).

The cluster’s strategic objectives include:

▪️ Development of the space ecosystem in Eastern Slovakia by active connection of academic institutions and industry with the aim of developing innovative and competitive products and services

▪️ Involvement of Eastern Slovakia in international space projects, including cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA)

▪️ Retention and attraction of talented individuals and development of education, thereby strengthening the attractiveness of the region for young professionals

▪️ Support for innovative startups and companies that can find new opportunities in this dynamically growing sector
