Science Lair: Of the Solar system

1920

The next Science Lair titled “Of the Solar system” will be held on May 1, 2021 at 2PM.

Our guide on the space adventure will be researcher Mgr. Marek Husárik, PhD., member of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. You can find more information about his job on his website.

Kids will learn well known but also unheard-of facts about Sun, planets and their moons, asteroids, comets and probes that once were used to study our Solar system.

Here are some questions that will be answered:

  • Why is the surface of the Sun not solid and why you cannot land there even during the night?
  • Why some of the planets do not have moons and others have many?
  • Why are planets multicolored?
  • How come the asteroids have such wide range of possible shapes and sizes from the size of a car to half a moon?

This Science Lair will be organized thanks to support of Magenta Life funding managed by Carpathian Foundation.
