Best Students’ Professional Activities project in the category Biology

On Monday, March 24, 2025, the regional round of the Students’ Professional Activities (SPA) took place in Košice, where students from grammar schools and secondary vocational schools presented their scientific projects. In the category Biology, two projects presented results from experiments, that were conducted at the Department of Biophysics, Institute of Experimental Physics SAS in Košice, under the supervision of Dr. Katarína Šipošová and her PhD. students, Tomáš Bíró and Viktória Fedorová.

The project titled “Controlled release of functional substances from spider protein-DNA bioconjugates,” was presented by high school student Hana Janošková (Pavol Horov Grammar School in Michalovce; supervisor Viktória Fedorová) and was awarded as the best project in its category and advanced to the national round.
