ATLAS Collaboration award for Pavol Stríženec

1920

The ATLAS Collaboration (LHC detector at CERN) gives an annual award to few individuals (from the overall 6000 members of the entire collaboration) for their exceptional personal contribution to its activities.

This year, the prestigious award was granted to RNDr. Pavol Stríženec, CSc., from the Department of Subnuclear Physics at the Institute of Experimental Physics SAS, for his work on the calorimeter (software, calibration, data quality), which contributed to the exceptional stability and quality of the calorimeter data (diploma). Thanks to him, 98% of the data collected by the ATLAS detector has been consistently suitable for futher physical analyses.

We sincerely congratulate our colleague for promoting the good name of the institute, and wish him many more successes.
