Open Day at Institute of Experimental Physics SAS

On November 11, 2025, from 9AM to 12 PM, Institute of Experimental Physics SAS in Košice will open its laboratories to registered elementary school pupils as a part of the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia.

The Open Day will be dealing with “Magnetism All Around Us”, and visitors will embark on an exciting journey into the world of magnetic phenomena, experiments, and nanomaterials.

In the beginning, visitors will enjoy a short popular-science presentation about the institute’s current research and activities. Together we will explore the fascinating world of magnetic phenomena, nanoparticles, and nanomaterials through experiments, games, and exhibits directly in our laboratories. Specialized laboratories of the Department of Magnetism will present their work — including the High Magnetic Fields Laboratory, the Magnetic Hyperthermia Laboratory, as well as facilities focused on magnetic fluids and liquid crystals.
