Eva Kowalská delivered the speech on behalf of this year’s honorees. In addition to expressing gratitude for the recognition, she highlighted the work of all her colleagues. “It is important to know that our work is worthy of attention for our Academy, and that this is acknowledged in a dignified way. We live in times when any significant contribution to knowledge becomes the subject of ridicule and trivialization, and both science and the Academy itself are disparaged not so much by the uneducated, but by cynics gambling with our future,” said historian E. Kowalská. “Being part of the Academy is for us both a commitment and a source of pride, and I hope, on behalf of those present, that we have had and continue to have our share in this,” added E. Kowalská, thanking the SAS Presidium on behalf of all the awardees for the recognition shown.

The ceremonial event continued with a musical performance from guitar virtuoso Karol Samuelčík.

We sincerely congratulate to the awardees!
