PHYTOAPP project meeting

On April 15, 2025, the third meeting of the PhytoAPP-101007642 project (H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020) took place at Lusófona University in Lisbon, Portugal. The project is funded by the European Research Executive Agency of the European Commission and is coordinated by Professor Sergiy Lyubchyk (Lusófona University). The goal of the PhytoAPP project is design development of innovative, water-soluble phytochemical inhibitors, which, thanks to targeted delivery, are intended for the treatment of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Advanced nanotechnological methods are being used to achieve these goals, where fullerenes are used as carriers to which phytocompounds are attached. This approach helps to eliminate the problem of the naturally low water solubility of phytocompounds.

During the meeting, representatives of the individual teams involved in the implementation of the project tasks presented their current results and progress:

Part of the meeting was dedicated to discussions led by the project coordinator, focusing on project management aspects, public communication, dissemination of the obtained results, as well as the data management plan. Representatives from all partner institutions attended the meeting, either in person or online. These institutions included: Lusófona University (PT), NOVA ID FCT (PT), NANOTECHCENTER LLC (UA), NEUROPLAST BV (NL), Institute of Experimental Physics SAS (SK), University of Oxford (UK), CASCATACHUVA LDA (PT), and the National Nuclear Research Center (AZ).
