Learning how to use modern IT approaches for space research is the goal of the following SPACE::LAB Summer school 2022. This year’s summer school takes place on August 22 – 24, and according to the organizers, has set itself the task of connecting people, know-how, skills and ideas from the field of space research and the IT sector. Participants will focus on optimization in galactic astrophysics, automatic detection of events in astronomical images, as well as interesting practical tasks where they will be able to join forces and prepare innovative solutions.

The Summer school begins on August 22, 2022 at 8:30 AM at Bulharská 4 in Košice, and ends on August 24, 2022 at 5 PM. Participants can look forward to a daily program.

2022 SPACE::LAB Summer school is one of the projects of the Department of Space Physics at Institute of Experimental Physics SAS in Košice. Everyone with a serious interest in space research and IT technologies, knowledge of English (presentation texts and study resources will be in English), knowledge of object-oriented programming language (user level at least two years – Python language will be used during the summer school) and have the opportunity to attend with their own laptop can enroll in the Summer school.

Registration is open until July 31, 2022. We ask you to send motivation letter in which the applicant describes why he wants to participate in the Summer school, to space-lab@saske.sk.

Participation in the Summer school is free, thanks to  support of European Space Agency (ESA). However, participants need to provide travel, accommodation and food at their own expense.
