At the premises of the SAS, he was interviewed by the Veda na dosah (Science within reach) about research he conducts with colleagues from the Institute of Experimental Physics SAS, what led him to become a physicist, why he thinks trust in scientific research is declining, as well as where he would like to travel if time-travel were possible, what he considers a great stroke of luck in his work, and what positive aspect aging has brought him.

During the interview, which we conducted in English and which was also attended by his colleague and friend, the Slovak physicist Jozef Kačmarčík from the Institute of Experimental Physics SAS, he also emphasized that although the award draws attention to him, it stands on team cooperation. “This story is the result of 25 years of ongoing collaboration between Grenoble and Košice, during which we shared ideas, insights, and knowledge throughout the entire process.”

The interview can be found here: Veda na dosah

Dr. Christophe Marcenat talked about his research of materials under extreme conditions, about travel that broadens horizons, and about people’s distrust of scientific facts.
