On Thursday, June 8, 2023, the traditional seminar of the winners of the Competition of young scientists under 35 years took place in Ko\u0161ice. In the Auditorium of SAS Institutes on Watsonova street, they presented their research and results with which they entered the competition. In the evening, the 22nd concert of Young to Young – artists to scientists took place in the Palace of Arts, connected with the awarding of diplomas.<\/p>\n
Once again, the seminar of the best young scientists of the SAS under 35 years brought the opportunity to learn about the diversity of research topics investigated by the scientists of the SAS. The following presented themselves in Ko\u0161ice:<\/p>\n

Mat\u00fa\u0161 Gre\u017eo,<\/strong> PhD., member of the Institute of Experimental Psychology, Centre of Social and Psychological Sciences SAS: Financial and health behavior of people during the first and second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic (3rd place)<\/em><\/p>\n The following participated using the videoconference presentation:<\/p>\n PhDr. Daniela Vacek, <\/strong>PhD., member of the Institute of Philosophy SAS: Normative discourse analysis (2nd place)<\/em><\/p>\n Mgr.\u00a0Veronika Valkovi\u010dov\u00e1<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute for Sociology SAS: Epistemic legitimacy of gender studies in scientific communities and the creation of public policies in Slovakia (Honorable recognition)<\/em><\/p>\n The program dedicated to young scientific talents continued in the concert hall of the Palace of Arts in Ko\u0161ice, where in the evening the students of the Conservatory on Timonova 2 played for the audience. Saxophonist Renata NASIBULINA<\/strong>, a 2nd year student, performed first with compositions by Paule Maurice: Tableaux de Provence (Images of Provence)<\/em>, IV. Dis alyscamps l’amo souspire (Sigh of the soul for Alyscamps)<\/em> and V. Lou cabridan (Bumblebee)<\/em>. S\u00e1ra DLUGO\u0160OV\u00c1<\/strong>, a 6th year student of opera singing, sang Sophie’s aria from the opera Werther by Jules Massenet. Singer Kristi\u00e1n GUTTEK<\/strong>, 4th year student, performed the Figaro aria from Mozart’s world-famous opera The Marriage of Figaro. In the end, pianist and student of the 6th year, Lea TOMA\u0160IKOV\u00c1<\/strong> performed with the Concerto for piano and orchestra in G major I. Allegramente<\/em> by Maurice Ravel. In the second part of the evening, the Czech suite op. 39<\/em> by Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k. The orchestra was conducted by Rastislav \u0160t\u00far<\/strong>.<\/p>\n After the concert, SAS President Pavol \u0160ajgal\u00edk awarded diplomas to successful young scientists. He emphasized the similarity between artistic and scientific work. “Both activities, scientific and artistic, require perseverance, a bit of luck and creativity. An artist or a scientist never goes to work, they perceive their work as a mission. That’s why I hope that this award will be an encouragement for you. And that the work, which I believe you like to do, is not a job and an obligation for you, but a mission,<\/em>” said Pavol \u0160ajgal\u00edk in a short speech.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
