In the Auditorium of SAS Institutes on Watsonova street, they presented their research and results with which they entered the competition. In the evening, the 22nd concert of Young to Young &#8211; artists to scientists took place in the Palace of Arts, connected with the awarding of diplomas.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, the seminar of the best young scientists of the SAS under 35 years brought the opportunity to learn about the diversity of research topics investigated by the scientists of the SAS. The following presented themselves in Ko\u0161ice:<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 1 Physical, Space, Earth and Engineering Sciences<\/u><\/p>\n<p>RNDr.\u00a0<strong>Miroslav Gan\u010d\u00e1r<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Experimental Physics SAS: <em>The two faces of poly\/peptide amyloid aggregation: inhibition vs. Application (1st place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr<strong>. Martin Bob\u00e1k<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Informatics SAS: <em>Scalable computing with big data (2nd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ing.\u00a0<strong>Rastislav Ries<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS: <em>Thin layers for Superconducting Radio Frequency (SRF) cavities. (3rd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr.\u00a0<strong>Zuzana Ro\u0161\u0165\u00e1kov\u00e1,<\/strong>\u00a0PhD., member of the Institute of Measurement Science SAS: <em>EEG signal analysis of stroke patients using tensor decomposition (Honorable recognition)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>Section 2 Life, Chemical, Medical, and Environmental Sciences<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Ing.\u00a0<strong>Michal Slan\u00fd<\/strong>, PhD.,\u00a0member of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry SAS: <em>Inorganic-organic hybrid clays for industrial and environmental applications (1st place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr.\u00a0<strong>Nikoleta Alchus Laiferov\u00e1<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology SAS: <em>Bioactive molecules in the adaptive response to exercise and chronic human skeletal muscle disease: systemic and tissue-specific mechanisms (2nd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr.\u00a0<strong>Ivana Kajanov\u00e1<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Virology SAS: <em>The process of cleavage of the tumor-associated protein carbonic anhydrase IX and the use of specific antibodies against this protein (3rd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><u>Section 3 Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts and Culture<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Mgr. art. <strong>Kristina Lomen<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute of Musicology SAS: <em>Traditional song culture of Slovaks in Stara Pazova, Serbia (1st place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr. <strong>Mat\u00fa\u0161 Gre\u017eo,<\/strong> PhD., member of the Institute of Experimental Psychology, Centre of Social and Psychological Sciences SAS: <em>Financial and health behavior of people during the first and second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic (3rd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following participated using the videoconference presentation:<\/p>\n<p>PhDr.<strong> Daniela Vacek, <\/strong>PhD., member of the Institute of Philosophy SAS: <em>Normative discourse analysis (2nd place)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mgr.\u00a0<strong>Veronika Valkovi\u010dov\u00e1<\/strong>, PhD., member of the Institute for Sociology SAS: <em>Epistemic legitimacy of gender studies in scientific communities and the creation of public policies in Slovakia (Honorable recognition)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The program dedicated to young scientific talents continued in the concert hall of the Palace of Arts in Ko\u0161ice, where in the evening the students of the Conservatory on Timonova 2 played for the audience. Saxophonist <strong>Renata NASIBULINA<\/strong>, a 2nd year student, performed first with compositions by <em>Paule Maurice: Tableaux de Provence (Images of Provence)<\/em>, <em>IV. Dis alyscamps l&#8217;amo souspire (Sigh of the soul for Alyscamps)<\/em> and <em>V. Lou cabridan (Bumblebee)<\/em>. <strong>S\u00e1ra DLUGO\u0160OV\u00c1<\/strong>, a 6th year student of opera singing, sang Sophie&#8217;s aria from the opera Werther by Jules Massenet. Singer <strong>Kristi\u00e1n GUTTEK<\/strong>, 4th year student, performed the Figaro aria from Mozart&#8217;s world-famous opera The Marriage of Figaro. In the end, pianist and student of the 6th year, <strong>Lea TOMA\u0160IKOV\u00c1<\/strong> performed with the <em>Concerto for piano and orchestra in G major I. Allegramente<\/em> by Maurice Ravel. In the second part of the evening, the <em>Czech suite op. 39<\/em> by Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k. The orchestra was conducted by <strong>Rastislav \u0160t\u00far<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After the concert, SAS President Pavol \u0160ajgal\u00edk awarded diplomas to successful young scientists. He emphasized the similarity between artistic and scientific work. &#8220;<em>Both activities, scientific and artistic, require perseverance, a bit of luck and creativity. An artist or a scientist never goes to work, they perceive their work as a mission. That&#8217;s why I hope that this award will be an encouragement for you.
