Venue

The meeting venue is going to be provided by the Hotel Patria located in one of the most wonderful places of Slovakia – High Tatras mountains. The hotel stays near by the most sought-after alpine lake – Štrbské pleso, surrounded by majestic peaks of Hight Tatras. Hotel Patria offers all facilities needed for organization of the conferences, meetings, workshops, etc. – lecture halls and rooms for discussions, excellent accommodation with exclusive views, perfect gastronomy, a space for relaxation, etc. Friendly and professional hotel-staff has a lot of experience with providing conference services and their organizations.

Travel information

In order to travel to the EMP User meeting 2022 there are a few options:

you fly/travel from your home airport/place to Košice airport on September 18th, 2022, and then take a taxi from Košice airport to our meeting point. The meeting point is the Centre of Low Temperature Physics, Park Angelinum 9, Košice. From the meeting point, between 16:00-17:00 we plan to organize the transport to the place of the conference – hotel Patria, Štrbské pleso, High Tatras mountains. A journey from Košice to Štrbské pleso by the bus takes two hours maximum.
you may fly/travel from your home airport/place to the Budapest airport. Then you have to order in advance and take an airport shuttle between Budapest and Košice. There are a few companies providing this service:

Journey between Budapest airport and Košice takes 3 hours maximum. By arriving to Košice ((on September 18th, 2022), you continue to the meeting point (the Centre of Low Temperature Physics, Park Angelinum 9, Košice) by taking a taxi, or just by walk – 20 minutes walk from any shuttle station in Košice city.
you may fly/travel from your home airport/place to the Krakow airport. Then you have to order in advance and take a bus between Krakow and Košice/Poprad. There are a few companies providing this service:

Journey between Krakow airport and Košice (Poprad) takes 3,5-5 (2,5-4) hours depending on taxi service. By arriving to Košice (Poprad) (on September 18th, 2022), you continue to the meeting point (the Centre of Low Temperature Physics, Park Angelinum 9, Košice) by taking a taxi, or just by walk – 20 minutes walk from any shuttle station in Košice. By arriving to Poprad, you may take an electric train from Poprad – railway station to Štrbské pleso, and then walk to hotel Patria.
you may fly/travel from your home airport/place to the Vienna/Bratislava/Prague airport. Then you have continue to main railway station and use an Intercity train operating between Vienna/Bratislava/Prague and Košice/Poprad. By arriving to Poprad city railway station, you may take an electric train from Poprad – railway station to Štrbské pleso, and then walk to hotel Patria.
travelling by using your own car to the EMP User meeting place, you should keep in mind the Slovak rules of using the roads and motorways.

In principle, you may arrive to Košice one day before, on September 17th, 2022. Then we shall arrange an accommodation for you in Košice city. Kosice city is worth to see.
